Conversion at certified garage

Delivery & RC update

Is my car eligible for EV conversion?+
25 car models across 8 brands are currently approved for conversion — Maruti Suzuki (12 models including Gypsy), Hyundai (5), Honda (2), Toyota (1), Volkswagen (1), Skoda (1), Renault (1), and Nissan/Datsun (2). If your model isn't listed, you can still register interest and we'll check for upcoming approvals.
Will my car registration (RC) still be valid after conversion?+
Yes — and we handle the RC amendment as part of the service. Your registration number stays the same. The RC is updated at the RTO to reflect the new EV powertrain. Our team manages the entire process — you don't need to visit the RTO.
What happens to my car's body and interior?+
Nothing changes except the powertrain. Chassis, body panels, seating, dashboard, air conditioning, power windows — all remain exactly as-is. Only the engine, gearbox, fuel tank, and exhaust are replaced with the EV motor, controller, and battery pack.
What is the portable battery option?+
Alongside the fixed battery pack, an optional portable (swappable) battery system is available. Portable packs can be swapped in under 3 minutes, which helps on longer trips. Additional portable packs can be rented when needed.
What does ARAI certification mean for me?+
ARAI (Automotive Research Association of India) is the government's official vehicle testing agency. Only conversions using ARAI-certified powertrain kits are legally permitted on Indian roads and eligible for RC amendment. Uncertified conversions cannot get insurance or an updated RC.
Who is responsible if something goes wrong?+
Every conversion comes with a 5-year battery warranty and 3-year motor warranty. The certified garage is responsible for installation workmanship. For battery defects covered under warranty, the technology partner handles replacement at no cost to you. Slide Mobility coordinates and arbitrates any issues via our platform.
